OCI (Open Catalog Interface)

Also known as: OCI

OCI (Open Catalog Interface) is a catalogue integration standard, originally from SAP, used to connect a buyer's procurement system to a supplier's PunchOut catalogue.

OCI performs a similar job to cXML: it defines how a buyer's system launches a punchout session to a supplier's catalogue and how the selected items are returned as a requisition. OCI is closely associated with SAP procurement environments, where it is the native punchout mechanism.

For a supplier, supporting both cXML and OCI maximises the range of buyer systems they can integrate with. The choice between them usually depends on which standard the buyer's e-procurement platform prefers.
