Lapasar: On track to become Malaysia's biggest wholesaler?

On BFM 89.9's business podcast, co-founder and CEO Thinesh Kumar Asogan joined the studio to discuss a bold question: is Lapasar on track to become Malaysia's biggest wholesaler? The conversation traced the platform's journey from serving small grocery stores and restaurants to building a B2B wholesale operation that now supports more than 10,000 SMEs.

The Infrastructure Behind the Ambition

Much of the discussion focused on why Lapasar's model is difficult to replicate. Rather than acting as a pure marketplace, Lapasar runs its own warehousing and distribution infrastructure across Peninsular Malaysia, supported by financial services that help small retailers manage cash flow. That combination of technology, logistics, and a verified supplier network is what underpins its ambition to scale.

The Road to RM1 Billion and Profitability

Thinesh also spoke about Lapasar's path to RM1 billion in revenue and, importantly, to profitability — including plans to develop its own consumer brands and products and to use scale to expand margins. It is the same long-term thesis that has drawn institutional backing, covered separately under the RM31 million raise led by blue-chip investors.

Businesses that want to see the platform in action can explore the marketplace or request a demo.
